President's Message
Winter 2025
Dear NeSSA Members and Prospects,
As we close out another productive year and head into the holiday season, I’m thrilled to share some truly exciting news for our association and the self storage community in our region. The merger between NeSSA and the New Hampshire Self Storage Association (NHSSA) has been officially approved by both memberships! This monumental step—set to take effect on January 1, 2026—will strengthen our presence and amplify our collective voice throughout the northeastern market. We look forward to welcoming our New Hampshire neighbors into NeSSA and are already exploring ways to enhance our events, expand our resources, and bring even greater value to our growing membership.
As we often say, an association is only as strong as its members—and your continued support is what makes NeSSA thrive. Membership renewals for 2026 are now underway, so please be sure to check your inbox for renewal instructions. Whether you prefer to pay by credit card or check, the NeSSA website makes it simple to renew, update your details, and stay connected all year long.
Looking ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be another fantastic year for our signature events. The Northeast Storage EXPO will return to Foxwoods on May 13–14 with more exhibits, education, and networking opportunities. We’re also excited to gather again for the Fall Retreat on September 24 at the Publick House Historic Inn. In addition, the board will be brainstorming event ideas in New Hampshire early in the year—and we’d love your input! If there are new topics, formats, or locations you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to share your ideas.
Lastly, I want to address an important change to your membership benefits in 2026. We were notified that the national Self Storage Association will be discontinuing its affiliate program with independent state associations. As a result, NeSSA members will no longer receive automatic affiliate benefits through the national SSA, including access to the SSA Magazine and discounts to their conferences. While this change was unexpected, our board is actively exploring ways to supplement those offerings. The good news is that NeSSA already provides an incredible range of resources tailored to your needs right here at the local level—from our in-person and virtual events to ongoing legislative advocacy and education. If you haven’t taken a look at our member benefits lately, I encourage you to do so—you may be surprised by all that’s available to you.
Thank you for your continued commitment to NeSSA. Together, we’ll make 2026 a year of growth, collaboration, and innovation for the self storage community across the Northeast.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday season.
Warm regards,
Jessica Lamoureux
NeSSA President
